The circa-1888 Webb Building had been abandoned for over 20 years; a roof collapse had damaged the structure through to the first floor. The complete reconstruction was financed in part with Historic Preservation funds, in accordance with the Secretary of the Interior’s Standards for Rehabilitation, and New Markets Tax Credits. The building now includes 32 loft apartments on the upper floors, and a day care center catering to special needs pre-school age students on the first and lower floors. The project was awarded the “Excellence in Historic Preservation Award” by the Preservation League of New York State.
