the links at ivy ridge

Akron, 2008

The Links at Ivy Ridge was a seven-year project, conceptualized and constructed by Mr. Donald Nicholas and Mr. James Fiske. When they began their search for a design firm in 2001, Carmina & Wood, P.C. (as we were then known) was highly recommended by country club members who happened to be previous clients of ours. The sprawling design of the Club House belies its rather conservative scope. Totaling 4,500 square feet, the new building was designed around an existing 19th century farmhouse on the property saved by the developers, which became the focal point for design and massing. This “country manor” facility includes a Pro Shop, bathroom facilities, sitting room, gallery, bar and grille and a full kitchen, as well as facilities for a future banquet hall. There is also a small grille for service at the turn. A generous wraparound porch provides breathtaking views of the course for dining guests.
